Our arborio rice is long grain rice grown in Italy and is named after the Po Valley town of Arborio, from where it originates.
Unlike other rice varieties, arborio rice retains more of its natural amylopectin starch, which allows it to absorb more liquid and flavour during cooking, making it perfect for risotto! The high level of starch allows arborio rice to have a pearly white colour and a beautiful creaminess once cooked correctly. However, it's important not to rinse the rice to retain the grain's unique creaminess!
