Known for its intense liquorice flavour/aroma and complex flavour, Star Anise is commonly used in both sweet & savoury dishes in various cuisines around the world.
You could say Star Anise is a star ingredient in soups and broths, like Phở! It's also the perfect flavour enhancer, adding depth to braised meats, marinades, rice dishes, mulled wine, baked goods & desserts, infused oils, teas & more!
How to use:
A little goes a long way when using star anise, as its flavour can be quite intense! We recommend adding whole star anise pods to your dishes and removing them before serving, as they can be tough and fibrous.
When making tea, simply add a few whole star anise pods to boiling water and steep for 5-10 minutes. You can enjoy it on its own or add other herbs or spices like cinnamon and ginger for additional flavour.
